‘The highest of all clouds, with thin wispy feather-like tails formed by ice crystals.’ 25,000ft above New Zealand’s Southern Alps and the Marlborough Sounds lie the ‘cirro’ clouds. Pure water falls from these clouds into the rivers and soils of the Wairau Valley, allowing us to create distinctively fresh, vibrant cool climate wines.

Our Story
Old World Winemaker in the New World
Cirro Wines was founded by David Tyney in 2009. David’s ambition is to be renowned for crafting the finest Marlborough wines, esteemed by both peers and wine enthusiasts around the world. Wines that are vibrant, sophisticated and impeccably balanced, revealing layers of flavour that echo a true sense of place.
His journey started out working in the cellar as a 13-year-old and has progressed to now having his own vineyard and small winery in a special part of Marlborough. He’s been honing his craft for over thirty years and embodies the old world, with a deep connection to the terroir. It’s a way of life.
